The 1960's had a lot of cool toys about space, spies, and battles, but some of these cool toys could actually hurt you. That was the case for this toy, the Zero M Sonic Blaster, by Mattel. This huge bazooka-like air cannon built up compressed air after you pumped it a few times. When you pulled the trigger, the air blast was so loud that it could really harm your hearing!
This is what Consumer Reports had to say about this product: "The Mattel Agent Zero M Sonic Blaster 5530 fires compressed air with a deafening blast. Our measurements top out at 157 dB–above a level that can do permanent damage to the hearing of an adult. We rate the toy Not Acceptable."
All that aside, just look at how cool this toy looked and it came with targets so you can practice blasting things down! Check out this commercial featuring a young Kurt Russell. Would you want to play with this?
