Since this is the first time we are opening our deep vaults of pop culture oddities, we figured we would start with one of the best treasures we have. This film is one of our favorites here in the Wonder Weird office and after watching it you will see why...
Safety: Harm Hides at Home is a safety film that was shown in schools across the nation teaching kids about the harmful things that could happen at home and how to be safe.
This film gets crazy right from the start. We meet Karen Kingsley, an architect who finds time to be a crossing guard for kids on their way to school.
One night, after visiting her favorite aunt, something extraordinary happens that changes her life forever (no, she doesn't meet Scot Baio) She gets zapped up by a UFO of course!
The aliens beam her up and grant her super powers to freeze time and save kids from all the dangers in the world. All she has to do is say the three "power words" to turn into SAFTEY WOMAN.
AWARE! ALERT! ALIVE!
Once she says these words, she transforms. Dressed in a snazzy silver suit, cool shades, and armed with a red shield that looks like a frisbee or a kids' garbage can lid, Safety Woman is ready to keep us all safe.
We are certain that after you view this cinematic masterpiece, you can write up an entire list of why you love this film. For us here at Wonder Weird, we only need one reason... well its SAFTEY WOMAN!! What more do you need? We guess the real question is, how much longer until director Michael Bay turns this into a $250 million dollar film franchise!!!!
